4 Club events you can attend in November

With final assessments out of the way, now is a great time to check out some of the social Clubs on campus! I’ve gotten in touch with some of the clubs running end of year events, to spotlight some exciting events that are happening in November.

Indian Student Association of Newcastle University (ISANU) – Bollywood Night Event

ISANU is all about promoting and celebrating Indian culture and creating a welcoming space for students from south Asian countries to connect together. For their end of year event, they’re hosting a Bollywood-themed party on 19 November at King Street Club, full of music and dancing. All are welcome to join, and you can register here

Dungeons and Dragons Club – Weekly Games

If you’re keen to play D&D and other roleplaying games, why not give the Dungeons and Dragons Club a go! They run online and in-person games, on both the Callaghan and Ourimbah campuses, and will be hosting Friday night games on 18 and 25 November. These games are a great chance to meet new people and let your imagination run wild! To get in touch, you can reach out to uondnd@gmail.com

Latin America Dance Society (LADAS) – End of Year Party

If you’re interested in Latin American dance, music and culture, LADAS could be the club for you! They run regular Monday night dance classes during the semester, and for their end of year party they’re collabing with the African Student Networking Society, Indian Students Association and Brazilian Society to share music from a range of different cultures. The party is taking place on 25 November at King Street, where the DJ will be playing Afro beats, reggaeton, Bollywood, Brazilian funk and Amapiano. You can grab tickets here

Newcastle University Boardriders Club – Social Surf

If you want to soak in the fresh air and sunshine, check out the Newcastle University Boardriders Club, open to all students with a shared love of surfing. They run regular social surf days at a range of Newcastle beaches, and occasionally host weekend trips up the coast. If you’re looking for something fun to do outdoors on a Sunday morning, come along to the social surfs on 20 and 27 November. For more info and to join, check out their Facebook page.

If you’d like to see the full range of Clubs and dive deeper into upcoming events, you can browse them all at the UNSA Clubs page.
